Dharma Hike - with forest bathing -June 1st

We will carpool up to Mt. Rose from RBC leaving at 9:00am. Please bring good walking shoes, sunscreen, sack lunch and water. The hike is a gentle 5 mile round trip.  We will do a Forest Bathing session after the lunch break.   We should be back to RBC about 3pm. Please join us for the day!

Forest Bathing is a process of individual contemplative "soaking in" of the natural environment. After a period of guided meditation the group breaks up and each one finds a spot in the first to sit and just be.  The Buddha and his students often used this method to rescenter and revitalize their practice.

"A PORTRAIT OF THE 14TH DALAI LAMA SINCE HIS EXILE FROM TIBET IN 1959."
at Reno Buddhist Center, 820 Plumas St., Main Hall.

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
- Donations accepted -

Presented in partnership with the Northern Nevada International Center.

more Info admin@renobuddhistcenter.org

The movie depicts  scenes of the Tibetans and the Dalai Lama going back to 1950 when the Chinese invaded the country, follows the Dalai Lama's visit with Chairman Mao, and his eventual escape into exile. His life in exile has been extraordinary and the question of whether there will be a 15th Dalai Lama is explored and unanswered in this film. The Dalai Lama himself has said he will not be reincarnated because he does not want the Chinese involved in choosing his successor.

The future remains a mystery, but one thing is certain. This man exudes happiness and peace, in spite of the genocide of his people at the hands of the Chinese. We have a lot to learn from him.
