Dear Sangha Friends,
We are all experiencing some uncertainty. Please draw strength from one another - at a safe distance. Acknowledge fears as they bubble up, but base your actions on clear understanding of the challenges facing our community. The news about COVID-19 changes rapidly. At this time, many restrictions are slowly relaxing. Our staff has been working on re-opening, but many are hesitant. Most temple activities are accessible by virtual or video link until the crisis is over.
Please express compassion to others by staying home when you can, limiting contacts, and washing your hands regularly, with soap, for at least 20 seconds. I know, it's a long time! Rev Shelley calculated that the Nenbutsu - “Na Man Da Bu” - chanted eight times, is 20 seconds. The perfect chant to chant while you wash your hands thoroughly at home!
And if you are coughing and sneezing - please stay home to protect others. Call the temple and talk with a priest if you feel anxious.
We have gone to a both/and model for services. A few sangha members are welcomed into the Hondo, while streaming continues. The RBC Channel on Facebook Live, and we will continue meetings and classes via GO TO RBC web-based service. Please ”like” Reno Buddhist Center on Facebook, so you can watch the service either live or later. Or if you prefer Youtube please subscribe to our RBC channel. We have been podcasting the services for months, so you can even watch Dharma Talks you have missed right now! The other meetings and classes will be available by interactive video link.
We look forward to seeing your facebook avatar dear Dharma friends at Sunday Services! As always, please let us know if you want to have tea with one of the priests and talk about your spiritual path - just call.
